The Florida Keys!
Wow. That's all I have to say. Wow. As you know from my last post, I have just come back from vacationing in the Florida Keys! And I have to say, I didn't even feel like I was in America. I felt like I was on some sort of tropical island. Our trip consisted of visiting three different places. First, we went to an island called Islamorada. The resort we stayed in, called the Islander Resort, which I highly recommend if you plan on visiting, was amazing. It was pretty much your own apartment, with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen, two sofas (one is a pull out bed) and basically a sunroom. We were literally right on the beach. When you walked out of the sunroom, you were on the beach. It was unbelievable. And the view from our window was incredible. The next island we went to was Key West. We stayed there for a shorter period of time, but I still loved it. Key West was full of a historical locations, including the southern most point, which is the closest point to Cuba, Ernest Hemingway's house, and much more. And the butterfly conservatory which I loved, hehe. The last place we went to was Miami, which isn't part of the Keys, but whatever. Oh. My. God. Our apartment, it was the most high tech, luxurious place I've ever been in. There was an iphone dock built into the wall, and when you played your music on the dock it would come out of speakers that were actually part of the frame to a big mirror. But guess what. The mirror was a TV too. And guess what also. There was a TV on the ceiling above the bed, so if you're really tired, you just lay down and look up. How cool is that?? Anyway, this is getting to be really long, and most of you probably didn't read this far. Hope you guys are enjoying my posts so far! (Keep in mind that I had to take these pictures with my iphone due to an issue with my camera.)
Right when you walk out of the sunroom you see this. |
A butterfly at the Butterfly Conservatory. |
An alligator coming right up to our boat in the Everglades. His girlfriend came along behind him too ;) |
More of the Everglades and gator huntin' very early in the morning on our air boat. |
A tiny section of a castle that we went to near Miami. This place was huge, with magnificent gardens. |

Summer Favorites!
I'm awfully excited to be leaving for the Florida Keys tomorrow! So far this summer, all I've been doing is laying around on my computer, doing nothing. But that's all going to change tomorrow when I head off to the sunny sunny Keys! Being a New Yorker, I don't see too many palm trees and such, so whenever I take a vacation to a tropical place, I embrace the opportunity to be surrounded with all the beautiful plants. But on the subject of summer, I decided that for todays post, I would show you guys what I've been enjoying this summer. (Please take into account that I had to use pictures from the internet for this post, since I am doing late night blogging and was not able to take pictures, but these are what I really have been loving.)
Pacsun Nollie Short Sleeve Raglan Tee. I recently picked this up at Pacsun, (where I normally don't shop), and I found this t-shirt. There is a sale on t-shirts currently going on, which includes this shirt, click here if you want to check that sale out! Raglan is my favorite style of shirt so I squealed inside when I found this. I plan to wear it whilst in the Keys! |

Nature is the definition of beauty.
Now I know, my little planter here isn't really impressive, but the vibrant colors sure do bring me pleasure. I do plan on adding many more little flowers to the planter, for planting them is actually quite a relaxing process. (To me anyway.) I can't wait to begin my actual garden which will be in a secluded part of my backyard. I have already decided the types of plants I am going to plant, and the bench that I want to put in the garden. I would LOVE to have a pergola, to carry climbing vines and flowers and such, but alas, they are extremely expensive. I think I'll post the gradual improvement of this little planter, and my actual garden. But for now, just enjoy these two pictures.
